It’s March! How did that happen? The start of this year has been mega busy, here’s what I’ve been getting up to…
New Year, Same Me.
I kick started the year in January by heading to a wellness retreat in the New Forest with NEXT. (I know, I’m a fitness blogger cliché!) The best thing about this trip, as well as the stunning hotel and the lovely ladies from the PR team at NEXT, was that I got to catch up with loads of my fit mates. It was a really fun way to start the new year and to get focused for the year ahead.
The retreat was held at the Limewood Hotel. It’s SO beautiful! I’d definitely recommend it if your looking for a fancy weekend away. (*FYI It’s stunning but very expensive)
Dream Job
I chatted to Refinery 29 about the reality of doing you ‘dream job’. I would say that without a doubt, I am doing my dream job right now. That doesn’t mean that it’s always easy or that I have managed to achieve a work / life balance, does such a thing even exist when you work for yourself? Anyway, here’s a link to the article that they shared …
What’s it really like, to be a fitness ambassador?
South Africa
Next up… I flew to South Africa to shoot a running campaign with adidas. It was an amazing opportunity and I fell in love with Cape Town. I wrote all about it, read my full post here … Cape Town, South Africa
Run Baby Run!
I’ve been running quite a lot this winter, I’m averaging about 14 miles each week. This is a lot less than last winter when I was training for the London Marathon, but I’ve been running constantly, three times each week. This includes two 6K early morning runs during the week and one 10-12K run at the weekend.
Last month I joined the Women’s Health magazine run club as a guest running coach. We hosted a run in London and also a run in Manchester. There was snow on the ground and it was absolutely freezing, but that didn’t stop us!
I few weeks later, I hosted some running workshops at the adidas studio in London, to launch the new UltraBoostX running shoe. I love group run sessions! If you’ve never tried joining a run club, I really encourage you to give it a go. You’ll meet some awesome women and it’s way more fun than running on your own.
LA
Next up… I flew to LA with adidas for the LA All Star weekend. It was such a crazy fun weekend, I filmed a vlog of the whole trip. The adidas women’s community truly is a network like no other. A team of strong, empowered women who are making a change to the world. I’m honoured to be an ambassador for a brand that places women front and centre. You can watch the video here … LA VLOG
Let’s Talk
Earlier this month I was invited to give a talk at the MK Centre Style Fest. I spoke about the ‘Power Hour’ aka How getting up early will change your life. I also gave a talk titled ‘Start Now’, I shared my ideas about living your life with purpose and why there’s no better time to start than right now. I’ll be hosting more talks throughout the year, so if you’d like to grab a ticket for the next one, make sure we are connected on social media @adrienne_ldn
International Women’s Day
To celebrate international women’s day I was invited to speak on a panel at a media company event in east London, alongside Sunshine Jackson, film producer and co- founder of Amplify pictures & Genevieve Ampaduh, Founder & Director at The Rye Social.
The theme was ‘inspire and empower’ I listened to the other two guest speak as well as sharing my insights and the story behind GetToKnow . I left that event feeling both inspired and empowered and also feeling proud to be a woman. 2018 is an incredible time to be a woman. We have a voice and the world is listening. Let’s make everyday, International women’s day!
Lastly…
My current obsessions ;
Podcast – Lewis Howes, The School Of Greatness & Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations.
Music – Mabel, Fine Line. I’m still loving it!
Food – I’m loving jam on toast at the moment. So basic but so nice! FYI I know that I need to reduce my sugar intake, (the addiction is real!) & I’m actually considering cutting it out completely for 10 days. Pray for me.
Reading – I have so many books piling up on the side at the moment. Next on my list is Standard Deviation by Katherine Heiny. *Must make more time for reading this month.
Travel – I’m heading to a cottage in Norfolk next weekend for a staycation with my sister. It’s in the middle of nowhere, I’m packing a bottle of wine and my walking boots. I can’t wait for some dedicated time with my sis.
Youtube – I am uploading weekly morning motivation video’s to share some positivity and encouragement with the world. YouTube – Adrienne LDN
