Sunday 12th June . . . I arrived at Wembley Stadium beneath a sky of grey clouds. I am an eternal optimist and so of course I had my sunglasses ready in anticipation. The Colour Run is titled the ‘Happiest 5K on the planet’, as we warmed up and danced our way to the start line, the sun broke through and everyone was looking very happy indeed.
The race pack contains face paints and transfer tattoos so you can get your war paint on in prep for the race. As you make your way along the 5K course, there are 5 different colour stations. You can see a cloud of colour as you approach and there are people standing on either side to ensure that you get a good splatter of rainbow dust as you run though.
The course was very busy with lots of people and children too. It’s not the kind of race for running a new PB, it’s just for fun.
The next run will be at the O2 on Sunday 4th September sign up here
NSPCC are the official sponsors of the Colour Run so your fund raising and sponsorship money could make a difference to so many children through out the UK.
