I have not always been a big fan of smoothies, many packaged fruity drinks that claim to be ‘healthy’ are actually packed full of sugar. I think it’s best to make your own fresh smoothies when possible. Once you’ve blended up a batch you can easily store it in the fridge or freezer for the next day.
Then there are those green smoothies that promise youth, energy and nourishment, but they taste like a pond! I don’t really want to hold my nose and drink lumps of spinach for breakfast.
So, here is my recipe for a nice pink smoothie, it’s full of the good stuff, dairy free and sweet enough even for me. [A self confessed sugar addict!]
1 handful of Strawberries,
1 handful of Blueberries,
A few chunks of fresh Pineapple,
Soya Vanilla Yoghurt
Simply blend all of the ingredients above and then top with Pomegranate seeds.
This is a great one for the kids at breakfast time too, my little boy loves it!
